ADOPTING PETS

It’s very simple: choose the animal you would like to give your love to and fill in the pre-adoption form you find here. Send it back to us and we will contact you immediately in order to conclude the adoption. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get into contact with us!

After the adoption, we’ll contact you to make sure everything is fine with your new four-legged friend. We’d be happy to receive photos and videos of him and his new family!

Remember that you must continue to provide medical care for your four-legged friend at regular intervals: vaccinations, routine veterinary checks and, if necessary, the purchase of special pet food.

If you have any doubts about your animal or simply need some moral encouragement, do not hesitate to contact us!

Adopting an animal is free! The association SALVAMI does NOT sell animals. When you adopt a dog or cat via the SALVAMI Association, you can be sure that your new four-legged friend will have already received basic treatment, including the following: a veterinary examination, deworming, a heptavalent vaccination, a rabies vaccination, implanting the microchip and registering it, microchip payment form, transporting the animal to your home. Possibly also: customs clearance and sterilisation/castration.

The SALVAMI Association advances all these costs and asks the adopting person only to reimburse the out-of-pocket expenses. Contact us for all the details!

Of course you can! If you’re unable to physically adopt a dog or cat, you can still show your love for animals by adopting a pet virtually. Your monthly contribution will help the association to save other animals and pay for their food and care.

I am Axel. I am a proud healthy and well-groomed male dog, although not so young anymore.
I come from Calabria (Italy) and I so would like to find a family for me in Switzerland.
Why protect animals abroad?

Dear human,
Before I was rescued by a Salvami volunteer, I lived on the streets. Driven by constant fear of being beaten to death, burned, blinded, mutilated or set on fire – I would have had this fate, just like thousands of my furry friends who were not lucky enough to be rescued like me.
Thanks to the help of Associazione Salvami, I was rescued and cared for by animal welfare workers: First I came to the vets that the Salvami association turns to, then to the volunteer who still takes care of me; all financially supported by Associazione Salvami. But the association itself cannot financially support everything alone and needs help! Everything the association does to save the animals’ lives would not be possible and the animals would all simply be abandoned to their fate, starve to death or perish miserably from disease if the association really remained alone. However, the funds from Switzerland are not only used for one dog, but also support castrations, vaccinations and treatments in case of illness, which sustainably improves the situation of stray dogs.
Your donation is also important – every single franc helps to alleviate our situation!
Within two years, Associazione Salvami has brought many rescued paws to Switzerland, who have found the best place in the world to live with loving people. A daily filled bowl and a soft place to dream, cuddles and adventurous walks – what more could a dog want?
